Choose the Mode — Basic or Scientific

At the top of the calculator, two buttons let you choose the calculation mode. The active button is displayed in blue; the inactive button is gray. For simple calculations, Basic mode is always sufficient.

Basic Mode — When to Use It
Basic — For everyday calculations: groceries, paychecks, bills, sales tax, splitting expenses with friends.
Scientific Mode — When to Use It
Scientific — For advanced calculations: trigonometry, square roots, logarithms, powers. Used in academic studies or engineering.

The Display Screen

The black screen at the top of the calculator displays the numbers you enter and the results of your calculations in real time. It also shows the operation in progress before you press the equals button.

How It Works
Each number you enter appears immediately on the screen. When you select an operation (e.g., +), the screen stores the first number. After you enter the second number and press =, the final result is displayed.

Example: You type 5 + 3 → the screen first displays 5, then 3, and after pressing =, it displays 8.

Calculator Size (S, M, L)

In the top right corner of the calculator, three buttons let you change its size. Both the calculator and the notepad change size together. By default, size M (Medium) is selected.

S — Small size
The S button reduces the size of the calculator and the notepad. Useful on a smaller screen or to take up less space on the screen.

Used for: Saving space on the page, quick reference.

Undo and Redo

These two buttons let you navigate through your action history, just like in standard office software.

Undo
Click the Undo button to return to the previous step and correct an action performed by mistake.

Used for: Going back after an accidental entry or deletion.

The Memory Buttons (MC, MR, M+, M−)

The memory buttons allow you to temporarily save a number and reuse it later in another calculation without having to retype it. Very useful when performing a series of related calculations.

MC — Memory Clear
Completely clears the number stored in memory. After pressing MC, the memory is empty.

Example: You have stored 100 in memory. You no longer need it → press MC → the memory is cleared.
Used for: Starting with a clean memory before a new series of calculations.

MR — Memory Recall
Displays the number currently stored in memory on the screen so you can use it in the current calculation.

Example: You have stored 250 in memory. Later, you want to add it to 80 → press MR → the screen displays 250, then + 80 = → result: 330.
Used for: Reusing an intermediate result in a subsequent calculation.

M+ — Memory Plus (Add to Memory)
Adds the number displayed on the screen to the number already in memory. Allows you to accumulate multiple values without retyping.

Example: Memory = 20. You calculate 15 + 10 = 25, then press M+ → the memory changes from 20 to 45.
Used for: Adding partial results, such as the total of several separate receipts.

Subtracts the number displayed on the screen from the number already in memory.

Essential Buttons

These buttons control number entry and allow you to correct or reset a calculation in progress. It’s important to know them before you begin.

AC — Clear everything and start over
The AC button immediately clears everything on the display and resets the calculator to zero. Useful when you’ve made a mistake and want to start over.

Example: You started typing 250 + 30 but made a mistake at the beginning → press AC to clear everything and retype from the start.

± — Change the sign of a number
The ± button flips a positive number to negative, or a negative number to positive, with a single press.

Example: You type 5 and then press ± → the screen displays −5. Press it again → it returns to 5.

% — Percentage
Automatically calculates a percentage of a number without having to divide by 100 manually.

DEG / RAD / GRAD Mode (Angle Units)

This button lets you choose the unit used for trigonometric calculations. With each click, the mode changes in the following order: DEG (degrees) → RAD (radians) → GRAD (grades) → then back to DEG.

The currently active mode is displayed in small text at the top left of the calculator screen, so you always know which unit your angles are calculated in.

DEG — degrees (0° to 360°), the most common system used in middle school, high school, and college.
RAD — radians (0 to 2π), used in mathematical analysis and physics.
GRAD — grades (0 to 400 gr), used in surveying and civil engineering.

Example: sin(90°) = 1 in DEG mode. The same calculation yields a different result in RAD or GRAD mode, since the angle is no longer expressed in the same way.
